Sons of Mim, a Swedish game studio that uses blockchain to develop its titles, has announced a fun and addictive trivia game that rewards participants in cryptocurrency for playing and winning.

Arriving next on the Starter multi-chain launchpad, MIMIR Quiz is the world’s first blockchain-powered quiz game. The game uses Trivia, the world’s most universal and proven game concept of all time.

Quizzing is a universal language. In one format or another, quizzing is enjoyed by people of all ages, all walks of life, and all cultures.

There are some well-known, and hugely popular online global quizzing games, but until now, there is yet to be such a game created on, and powered by, blockchain.

What is MIMIR?

The Mimir Quiz game will be a constantly evolving, ultimate test of trivia.

In its first iteration, it will allow players to enjoy two distinct game modes within the same quiz app: 1vs1 and Tournaments.

Duel

The 1vs1 game mode will include a version of the popular round-based Trivia game that has been famous in mobile games for a long time. The game has five rounds, each with three questions. Players can duel 1v1 against random opponents, or friends and family, anytime during the day.

Live-streamed tournaments

The live-streamed quiz tournaments are the primary draw of the Mimir Quiz. Daily quiz tournaments will be broadcast from Stockholm, Sweden, and players worldwide can take part.

The live tournaments are a thrilling and social experience that puts your knowledge of a wide range of topics to the test. There will be 10 to 15 knockout rounds, each with 1 question, similar to HQ Trivia, with the ultimate goal of making it all the way through to win.

Instead of sitting on the couch watching people on TV answer questions and winning money, the Mimir Live Quiz will let you be part of the show! Players from all over the globe will compete for huge prizes in Mimir Tokens with real monetary value directly on their smartphones, all thanks to the power of blockchain technology!

But also utilising the world’s most popular blockchain for scalability. That’s right, $MIMIR will launch as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, using the Polygon layer-two solution for scalability, efficient gas fees, and cross-chain capability.

Tokenomics

Free to play, Play to earn, and Play to earn bigger

At its heart, MIMIR is free to play. However, prizes are limited on the free to play tournaments, if you want to win BIG, then you have to put your $MIMIR where your mouth is.

The biggest payouts will be available in the pay-to-play tournaments, where users will be required to stake $MIMIR tokens to take part.

However, players can also earn small amounts of $MIMIR tokens by completing in-game and social tasks, and missions!

Ultimately, the $MIMIR token will be used for the entry fee in play to win tournaments, governance, in-game purchases, and prize distribution.

$MIMIR tokens can then be exchanged for other cryptocurrencies, and even FIAT currency too.

Along with the token, each user will create their MetaMask wallet during the sign-up process. With the wallet set up, users will be able to interact with all the in-game functions, which include playing, staking, earning, and receiving tokens.

MIMIR will not only prove a great place to play and earn for the blockchain community but also a new and effective way for non-crypto people to onboard into the awesome and exciting world of blockchain.

Vesting token protocol

All tokens allocated to team efforts are time-locked using team.finance audited smart contracts. These tokens will be released on a monthly basis to the team over a 2 year period.

Pre-staking program

We will reward our investors by allowing IDO participants to take part in our pre-staking program. The program will allow 5 million MIMIR tokens to be staked. Pre-stakers can earn either 50% or a 100% interest — depending upon if they lock their tokens for 6 or 12 months.
