Hello $START-ers! Here you can catch up with our AMA with the team behind Wasder, the ultimate social platform for the gaming industry…

The date of their IDO has been delayed slightly, a new date will be announced soon, but in the meantime if you have any burning questions, or if you just want to join their community, Wasder invites you to check out their Telegram and follow them on Twitter.

Let’s get into the AMA!

Moonberry
Hello everyone!! We have an AMA now.
Welcome @sam6ft9 from Wasder — How are you today?

Sam
hey hey, I’m good! Glad to be here!

Moonberry
We are happy to have you here as well!!

Sam
We’ve got Thomas (@WASThom) here as well! The CEO

Thomas Wasder
Hey guys! Pleasure to be here!

Moonberry
That is our pleasure — our community is always keen to learn about new projects 😁

So let’s get started — could you give us a summary or elevator pitch of what Wasder is?

Thomas Wasder
Absolutely! I will admit, I could talk about Wasder for days! (literally), but let me try to do the elevator version

Wasder is the ultimate social platform for the entire gaming industry, and we provide a space that's fun, entertaining, non-toxic, and inclusive to all gamers. An ecosystem where everyone goes to find what they need or want regarding their favorite games. Whether that's people to play with, content, tips & tricks, the right community to join — OR, just experience social connections and earn gaming & token rewards — Wasder and our offering is personal to everyone. And uniquely different to each of them. Our platform is built as a gaming ecosystem and social platform, which means for us that ALL games are relevant, and that's the strength of our platform.

Right now, we have about 50 000 different games on the platform that people can talk about, match with others (party play) to find people to play with, and build communities around. We’ve released the world's first party play (Matchmaking) that's game agnostic, to help people find people to play their favorite games with, and we are releasing a lot more features in the months to come. We are also currently building up an industry-leading version of player-created communities. We want to create the best guild & team functions in the entire gaming industry. Everything from member management, to community leaderboards, to guild forums, to guild event calendars & raid calendars, to the ability to promote and grow your community to millions of players. We are making all of it into a smooth and simple experience. We are aiming to have the first version of this ready in Q4! Wasder is currently out on web, iOS, and Android — and getting amazing feedback. We are currently sitting at over 60% retention rates, which is industry-leading for a social platform.

And right now, we are getting more than a thousand users every day, and its rapidly increasing

Moonberry
WOW. Sounds very impressive! It seems that you have achieved quite a lot already— can you tell us more about the team behind all this?

Thomas Wasder
Hell yes!

Moonberry
🙈🙈

Thomas Wasder
My name is Thomas, I am the CEO and founder of Wasder.gg I’ve been in the gaming industry for a long time now, almost 15 years. Where I’ve worked in major publishers like EA (Electronic Arts), and I’ve been the community liaison for Age of Conan at Funcom, for over a million players. In the more recent years, I’ve gone on the sales journey from sales rep, to sales director, corporate mergers and acquisitions in several tech companies, then I started my own companies and moved into investments before I finally founded Wasder, which is my dream company, and the heart of my businesses, as its a combination of the gaming industry which I love. But our team is where we truly stand out!

Our CTO is the previous CTO of LeoVegas — a billion-dollar company in the gambling industry. Our VP of Product — is the previous Lead Producer of Candy Crush by King, which everyone knows of. She’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever worked with. Our CMO — Sami, has worked on mega brands like visa, Sony, Mercedes, Absolut, and he’s been in the blockchain space since the very beginning! Our COO, is previous management of Reebok and has worked on deals like UFC, Crossfit, and tons of other mega brands. And the list goes on, we have an amazing creative director, a head of engineering who used to build blockchain tools, and roughly 20 other people. Everything from developers, to community managers, to designers ++. And then we have our investment team; previous apple executives, silicon valley money, hedge funds, family offices from Singapore, real estate billionaire moguls. And that's just on our equity side, on the token side we have entertainment superstars. We have blockchain partners like Protocol Ventures, GBV, Fomocraft, and a lot of others. So we have a very very good team!

Or, as Sami says — Just call him overlord.

Sam
lol

Moonberry
Seems like an all-star team 🙂 which is not so common in crypto or defi always — many of us are used to anon teams probably in their mother’s basement 🤣🤣🤣

Sam
Haha, yup

It’s good to remember, that this company also has been around way before we got into crypto

Thomas Wasder
As Sami said, we’re an established well-funded company! :)

Sam
With several equity investment rounds prior to where we are now

Moonberry
Funding is always good to ensure the uncertain times, this industry can be pretty turbulent.

Thomas Wasder
I agree completely

Moonberry
Crypto is of course a land of numerous opportunities, but tell me from your point of view: why blockchain and why crypto, and why NOW? Why did you decide to build Wasder?

Thomas Wasder
hehe, several good questions there, and I’ll start from the “back” of it

Sam
That’s a great question!

Thomas Wasder
We built Wasder because we saw that the gaming industry was missing several key components. Let me paint a picture in your head first — imagine that I told you, that you can have ONE application per phone you have. At some point, no matter how good of an app I try to sell you, you would say “I can't buddy, I cant carry 50 phones. That's the gaming industry at the moment, for every single game — you need 3–15 different apps and functions externally from the game, in order to solve BASIC behavior like finding content about that game, finding someone to play with, or who of your friends also plays that game, and then growing and managing a community…

So we decided to build ONE ecosystem, where the user can solve these behaviors in one place, regardless of the game

Sam
Why blockchain — well, traditionally, gamers don’t own any of the in-game assets that are produced — be it gems or bananas. Those currencies only work in that specific game, and you can’t transfer them or any of the rewards you have received. Our platform uses a tokenized ecosystem not only to gamify the experience (because gamers like gamification), but also to let gamers keep ownership of everything they earn, be it tokens, NFTs, or other rewards. A decentralized platform allows for much more interoperability with other projects, and it allows our ecosystem to combine with others, as well as having a full circular experience for our users.

Thomas Wasder
The matchmaking works with 50 000 + games right now and we are adding more, there are dedicated game spaces where we are adding TONS of features in the coming months, for each individual game. So no need for 30 apps

Sam
Imagine tipping your favorite content creators or streamers, challenging another guild to battle, or using tokens to access extra functionality, NFT custom reactions, upgrade your profile cosmetically, avatars, you name it. Blockchain brings so many new opportunities.

Thomas Wasder
And Sami says, our blockchain & crypto side of it, is the reward & incentivization system — that we also gamify. It's the PERFECT support structure for the rest of our functions, and it makes perfect sense.

It allows us to bring blockchain to millions of consumers, and by the end of 2021 — we will have a million gamers on the platform, all wanting $WAS for cool utility stuff on the platform

Sam
In the future, any game ecosystem not adapted to blockchain will have a hard time, because of the opportunities for cross-channel interoperability etc.

Moonberry
Sounds like a massive ecosystem, as crypto and blockchain are ultimately both network-based businesses where those with the strongest networks succeed best

can you tell us more about the customer/game acquisition? Many dapps still suffer from low user numbers

Sam
Sure, I think we can both touch on that. Wasder has an aggressive growth strategy in place, where we have an agency that worked with TikTok and other huge clients helping us. From an internal perspective, we have acquisition campaigns running on several fronts — media buying, competitions, social media influencer collaborations, music artist collaborations, public relations specialists etc. Our goal is to have over 1M users at the end of the year

Sam
on the crypto side of things, we will have some pretty cool partnerships to announce very soon, and we’re looking at onboarding several crypto/blockchain gaming platforms to host their communities in our ecosystem

Thomas Wasder
Absolutely. Wasder is a “mainstream” company for every gamer out there. But blockchain is a beautiful piece of tech — and gamers are used to “ingame” currencies. So we felt that it’s the perfect synergy, and the perfect way to bring the MASSES of gamers into blockchain in a smooth and sexy way

Moonberry
Do you have already have “mainstreamers” using your platform and how has the feedback been?

Thomas Wasder
We have a very active userbase so, definitely dont suffer from low user numbers :)

Moonberry
🙌🙌😎

Thomas Wasder
The feedback has been absolutely amazing, and we have tons of “mainstreamers” using our platform. I am looking forward to when we start actually implementing the token utility functionalities because that's when we can truly cause mass adoption of blockchain. But for the rest of our product, usage is already really high. Averaging more than 8 minutes per day, and a 60%+ retention rate

Which is extremely high for a new social platform

Let me dig up a little slide with feedback from ON platform

Moonberry
Yes please 🧐

Thomas Wasder

These are compilations of posts ON our platform, but also on other social media about our platform from users

Sam
Yeah, what I really love about Wasder…and remember, I came in as an equity investor first, then a board member, and THEN CMO… is that Wasder listens to their community

and adapts to what they say

Moonberry
Looks fun!!!

Sam
and it’s inclusive
non-toxic

Thomas Wasder
There’s also this mega-rocket league E-sporter who tried to beat Santa during Christmas on our platform

(spoiler) he couldn't beat Santa.

Sam
and we hear from our community members who are female gamers or minority gamers that they love how non-toxic it is

and that’s important

Moonberry
Indeed, if gaming is toxic — combine that with crypto — another place where there are people from all walks of life 😅.. Sounds like you have done a great job in creating a positive environment!!

Anyways, can you tell us a little about the Wasder platform and the new features you have been developing? I can see you have a lot to come on your roadmap. What features are you most looking forward to rolling out? Anything unique?

Thomas Wasder
Definitely!

The top 3 features that I am looking forward to would probably be:

1: The matchmaking that we already announced and have live on mobile, it's the first game agnostic friend finder where you can find someone to play with, in almost any game! And the upgrades that we are adding to that, later on, are absolutely freaking amazing

2: Has to be the friends hub + “home” feed, where we customize the feeds based on each individual person's interests, and social network (friends and followers on Wasder). The reason this excites me, is because it makes everything PERSONAL for every single person

3: Player-made communities — I’ve always been a big guild player. And guilds are massively underserved in gaming today, it's just ridiculous. Everyone thinks Discord is “the shit”, but the thing is, they are just the best that is available.

Guilds need member management, forums, leaderboards, badges, growth mechanics, promotion, etc

And also — we are making guilds & small groups of friends — challenge OTHER guilds and small groups to “battles”. Either for achievements, badges, or tokens

And of course — the reward & incentive gamified system where $WAS actually comes into use! So that all of our users have a reason to go get WAS tokens, and all the cool shit it lets them do!

Moonberry
All these sound so cool

I am not a gamer but maybe I become one soon 🤣🤣🤣

Sounds like I should try too 🙃🙃

Thomas Wasder
I think more people are gamers than they think tbh! Our creative director

When we hired him, said “But I'm not a gamer”

And when we asked him if he never plays, it turns out he played Pokemon Go 15 hours a week...

That's the definition of a gamer right there!

Moonberry
Hahaha!!!!

But tell me, Who would you consider your competitors in the space, are there any projects you are inspired by? Discord for example? And are you the first to combine a social gaming platform and crypto?

Thomas Wasder
Right now, there are platforms that do SOME of what we do

But not as a “whole”. No one has created a full ecosystem or a full worthy social platform in our view

Discord is definitely on our radar, but they specialize in voice and video, which is pretty far from what we focus on. There are so many things they just don’t do, and that's where we shine.

We will have voice in small groups too, that's actually coming very soon.

But we aren't competing with discord.

Yet.

Sam
There are products… and there are ecosystems

Te are the ecosystem

Thomas Wasder
We are DEFINITELY the first to bring a mainstream massive social ecosystem into blockchain and crypto though.

Which is why we are attracting massive blockchain partners too, which we will announce soon.

Including a very very large data & oracles partner.

Sam
In a goldrush, which is what the gaming and crypto industry is in, the people making the money are not the gold miners, it’s the ecosystem owners — the people that sell the pickaxes and the shovels, the railroads, the saloons

Metaphorically speaking, of course

Rules for posting questions in BSCstarter AMA:

If the question is copy-pasted from external sources, the winner will get disqualified for the next 10 AMA sessions and will not receive any reward. The user who provides proof that the question is copy-pasted from external sources will get 20% of the prize. If the question is copy-pasted from internal sources, the user will be disqualified forever.

Our goal is to have AMAs that benefit our community and help shed insight on the project and its team. As such, the questions should be genuine, not copied from other AMAs.

All the remaining funds from the questions which were disqualified will be distributed to the community. The 80% remains will go to the AMA reward fund for BSCstarter. So if the winner of option 2 gets disqualified, the reporting user wins $20 and $80 goes towards the winner of option 2 for the next AMA. This way, the next reward will be $180 instead of the usual $100.

Koven Leader
Thank you for those wonderful answers you really gave us a lot of information!

Thomas Wasder
Dude, I am having fun!

Koven Leader
This was definitely one of our most interesting AMAs

Before we head into our community section let’s review the Twitter question:

Thomas Wasder
🙏🙏🙏

Koven Leader
👏

Moonberry
Thanks so much — @Koven_Leader will manage the community part for your AMA. I must say I really love what you are doing and consider becoming a gamer 😜

Koven Leader
That’s what these AMAs are about! Showing the community your project and doing it in a comfortable way.

Sam
We will monetize in several different ways. Ad revenue is of course one thing, fees for using some of the platform services is another, partnerships, events.

Look at Facebook and Twitter, they monetize mostly through ads

Thomas Wasder
This actually allows us to focus the token ecosystem on generating massive value for the users and holders.

Instead of focusing on Wasder surviving because of tokens, which makes any economic model for the $WAS token much much harder to make

Instead, we’ve hired one of the best game economy designers in the world — to focus on building the most badass gamified social rewards out there

Sam
Yeah, I mean, while of course, we can’t talk price or even speculate, anyone would understand that the growth of an ecosystem benefits all sides…

Koven Leader
I think that was perfectly put. With a project like yours, there are many options for monetizing and it’s great to know that you’ve taken some thought as to how you will approach this.

Thomas Wasder
Yep, in any industry it's crucial to have a real business plan

Koven Leader
Dear community, we are opening the chat. Please prepare your questions. @sam6ft9 and @WASThom will select 5 of them. Please remember the rules ❗️❗️❗️

Thank you for your questions!

Koven Leader
@sam6ft9 and @WASThom please answer at least 5 questions and choose one as the winner.

Maya
A partnership is like a supplement where the combined effect is beyond the individual level. Can you name some recent partnerships that help your project? Are there any partnerships that will take place in the near future? Can you tell us with whom?

Sam
Of course, we believe that partnerships will help solidify our place in this industry. We’ve partnered with several companies in the past e.g L Razer https://www.thegamer.com/razer-rgb-wasder-twitch-extension/ Gala.Games https://blog.gala.games/gala-games-connects-with-wasder-12c0de0faa6f#:~:text=Gala%20Games'%20Integration%20with%20Wasder&text=Eventually%20as%20a%20publisher%20of,matchmaking%20party%20chats%20and%20more! And we have some major partnerships being announced in the coming weeks

Maya
Is the tokenomics and distribution model already out? Where can I get them? Can you share the details with us here?

Sam
Yes, you can find it on our website: https://www.wasder.gg/token-info/

J. Marin
WASDER plans to offer rewards in NFT or something similar for users who access games, make tournaments, or something special, and reward them with NFT?

Thomas Wasder
Yes, 100%! In fact, we had a meeting specifically around streamers and “loyalty” NFTs earlier today — imagine the ability for streamers to mint badass Wasder NFTs for their loyal fans, that will also show as badges on their Wasder profiles. In addition to this, one of the key NFTs that we are creating is event ticket NFTs, where you can participate in superstar events, but also in player-created events using specific NFTs. And if you take a look at our staking rewards — we are actually rewarding people with custom-made NFT reactions, that users can use on posts on the platform. So instead of just a “like”, you will be able to have badass reactions that you can only use if you have the NFT!

Rupi
Almost 80% of investors have just focused on price of token in the short term instead of understanding the real value of the project. Can you tell us on motivations and benefits for investors to hold your token in long term?

Sam
Look, if there is one industry that is provenly growing mega fast and will continue to do so in the coming years, it’s the gaming industry. Easy math tells us that with a million users on the platform, there will only be 1,000 tokens available to each user. The long-term viability of this platform is that no one else is providing an ecosystem like ours, and no one else has the stellar team that Wasder has. We are looking into e-sports, music and gaming, and many other things that will only benefit the industries that are being combined and our users.

For Now
Wasder is a multi-game platform with various games. Since many users seek entertainment with Wasder, how do you filter and monitor users to avoid cheating? Do you have an automated system detection for issues Like this?

Thomas Wasder
So Wasder is a social platform, with multi games and matchmaking mechanics! And our reward & incentive mechanics is also kind of designed as a game, or at least gamified. So both exploiting OUR reward system is of course being monitored. BUT, what we monitor that we see as more important, is behavior. We want to create an inclusive, fun, and welcoming community standard. So our systems are designed in a way, that if you exhibit very toxic behavior — you actually significantly limit your own ability to earn $WAS rewards, and other things.

Jeje
Why does Wasder want to work on blockchain, there are already so many successful games platforms on web, so why does Wasder want to bring blockchain into it? What benefits does blockchain serve to crypto users?

Sam
First of all, Wasder is not a game or a publisher, we are a social platform that deals with behavior and communities. As for the benefits, we covered most of them earlier in the AMA, but mainly all the cool functions like matchmaking and brand pages, a circular tokenized ecosystem where tokens are being awarded and spent for different things, integration of NFTs, tournaments, streamers, etc.

Jasi
As I know a strong community is very important for every project. Do you plan to be a local or global project? What strategy will be used to expand the community?

Thomas Wasder
So yes, we are absolutely 100% a global project! We’re already established with users from the UK + US + all over Europe, and several other countries. We are also expanding into several other regions, and adding language support for them as well! Over the next few years — you will find Wasder in every country on the planet. When it comes to strategy, we work with the growth agencies behind TikTok, Monster energy, our own growth team — as well as influencers and mega partners from the entire industry! And it's a combination of viral growth, paid growth, influencers, partners, and usage in general!

Jasi
Do you have a Token Burning plan to increase Token value and attract Investors to invest?

Sam
No, we do not have a burn plan. Our plan is to launch on multiple blockchains, and the token amount will be divided among those. We can’t implement temporary solutions just to affect token price — we are a company with billionaire investors and silicon valley investors in a regulated country (Sweden), that would not be tolerated.

Mongol
Do you have support from the government or Start-Up in your country? What are the regulations on governing the Blockchain?

Thomas Wasder
Yes, we do! Because our matchmaking allows people to find friends to play with — we believe we can have a positive social impact on the world. And as a consequence, we’ve got public funding for these functions! When it comes to regulation on governing the blockchain — we listen to ALL users, in every aspect of our product. There’s a community team always listening to the feedback and users, and sitting on the platform interacting at any single time. In addition to that, if you check our staking rewards — if you stake enough tokens, we will even give someone a 1 week trip to Stockholm, to use our entire design team and development team to build their favorite feature! For other stakers — we will also give them direct access to our slack, and have a joint chat with our management team in a direct access communication!

Sam
also, a quick plug, if you feel that your question wasn’t answered, or if you just wanna join a cool community, feel free to check out our Telegram chat https://t.me/WasderOfficial

or join our community at www.wasder.gg

Also, we do have a major announcement for this AMA

@WASThom, would you do the honors?

Thomas Wasder
Yeah, due to the current markets being as is — we’ve chosen to push the date of the BSC IDO slightly. A new date will come when we see that it's the best possible timing — and when Starter thinks it's the smartest timing! Because we want to do right by the community! There are a few mega announcements coming shortly — so the BSC IDO might happen around the same time ;)

And of course, to add to the excitement — we do have a sexy little video that I can’t stop looking at!

Sam
Thank you to the team at Starter for creating this cool video!
