Let’s start by introducing yourselves, your backgrounds and more on the team involved.

I’m the Co-founder of Project Oasis, we are a team of 19 from all around South-East Asia. Our team comprises individuals from all around South East Asia. Our IT team has been developing smart contracts (3 years) and games for the past 10 years, while our marketing team has been in their respective industry for over 10 years 😉

Can you tell us about how you came up with the concept for Project Oasis? Were you like huge fans of Zelda, and said when you grew up that you will create a Zelda-like game, but powered by blockchain? 🙂 How did that unfold?

Yes, spot on Chef! Personally, I grew up playing a lot of Nintendo, which explains Zelda. On top of that, our tech lead is a big fan of Maple Story and Ragnarok Online!
As we grew older, we then ventured into the blockchain/crypto space in 2017
Beginning of this year, we then decided we should do a game powered by blockchain, (Defi Gamified + Gamefi)

So let’s hear the low-down on ProjectOasis and how it all works. Can it be utilized by people new to crypto as well?
FS (ProjectOasis)
Yes most definitely, we have designed the game to be friendly to new users of defi and also OG users. For example: 1. The farms that are integrated within Oasis are all audited. We also have RugDoc onboard as a partner to help in this area. 2. Our game is totally free to play (users would just need a small amount of bnb for a gas fee).

Good to know things are audited and you have a user-friendly platform, especially as you introduce newcomers to crypto.

3. We also provide simple education steps on defi, for example, the placements of DEX to Yield Aggregator to Lending Protocol are just streets away in the game (rather than using multiple browsers to perform those actions)
NFT marketplace and Launchpad are few streets away too 😂

This is tough question! hmmmmmm I like most parts of the game as it is created and designed by our team! If I were to choose, it would be the NFT segment. Our NFTs and our partners’ NFTs that have been integrated within Oasis aren't just static pictures or jpegs. You can use them as your avatar to socialize, walk around, run around, party up for P2E!

Play to earn has a huge impact on the lives of gamers in certain parts of the world. What is your plan for reaching into the deepest parts of these countries to reach those who can truly benefit from a project like Oasis?

ProjectOasis is a game built for EVERYONE. It does not matter if you are rich or poor, there is something for everyone. Whales can flex their expensive NFTs while going about their usual DeFi processes. If you don’t have much capital, you can still get rewarded simply by participating in our game, you might get lucky with a fortunate find from a quest, lootbox or NFT mint and end up making a big sale to a whale. Our game is also built to be lightweight, it is built on phaser. You do not need a good PC to play the game, mobile phones will also be supported seamlessly.

Let’s talk about staking. Is staking in the Oasis metaverse similar to staking on other DeFi platforms? What are the main differences?
Imp (ProjectOasis)
Staking and farming in the Oasis metaverse is slightly different from the usual process. In the Oasis metaverse, staking/farming is represented by crops, instead of merely interacting with a smart contract through a website, this action is represented by an interaction in the Oasis. Users get to go through the experience of playing a game which is more social and interactive, with an opportunity to get additional rewards at the same time. It’s less boring, way more interactive and intuitive.

Who would you say are some of Project Oasis’ competitors? What differentiates you from them?

ProjectOasis has been compared to DeFiLand on Solana network and Cardano Warriors on Cardano network. We’re very flattered! Those are very good projects which will change the way DeFi is presented to new and experienced users. What makes ProjectOasis unique is how Oasis NFTs are not mere JPEGs, they have real utility. You get to show them off as avatars in the Oasis metaverse and gain rewards for holding them. Look forward to being granted exclusive access to private events in the future too! OLa launchpad is the first launchpad built into a metaverse, we are very excited to change the way IDOs will be held in future. Say goodbye to bots and embrace the new way of participating in an IDO: You have to actually be there in character and squeeze with others to participate in OLa. Who knows, you might meet some good friends while participating in an OLa IDO.

You’ve accomplished so much up to now. What are your ambitions plans/roadmap through the end of the year?

Post-IDO, we look forward to helping our partners ease into their new homes in the Oasis. We will then look to allow our users more freedom to express themselves by launching our attributed NFT series. You don’t have to be a Native anymore… 😉 Got to have fast hands though, there will only be very limited numbers. We’ll look to introduce our Participate-to-Earn feature by year-end, this will not only be rewarding for users, it will also be educational.
Being in the Oasis is not just fun, it’s also rewarding (and free).

I see many risks associated with DeFi, do you agree with that opinion? How will you make Oasis secure?

You are absolutely right, DeFi is a very dangerous place but it is also very rewarding. To make Oasis more secure, we’ve partnered up with RD Auditors and RugDoc. RD Auditors are experienced and professional, they’ve audited wonderful projects like DAOMaker and Quickswap. RugDoc is also very experienced, professional and they have a very close-knit community. Having good friends is important if you want to go the distance.

The Oasis is nothing without its community and partners. We welcome everybody and we will never stop building. Our goal is to integrate everyone into the Oasis. Look forward to meeting all sort of games, DeFi processes, security and educational content. The Oasis is the only place you need to be. Our team is wholesome and we have all aspects covered, we even have legal counsel! While we try our best to include everyone, regulations in some countries are still strict. Rest assured that we will try our best to find ways to overcome this in days to come.
